Braxtin Miller Named USBWA Freshman of the Week

ST. LOUIS – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team added to its awards haul today with Braxtin Miller being named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association National Freshman of the Week.
The USBWA weekly honors for Division I women's players are handed out each Tuesday during the season and are chosen by Mel Greenberg, the USBWA coordinator for women's basketball.
In OSU's upset of No. 7 UCLA last Friday, Miller poured in a career-high 19 points. The Centerville, Ohio native made eight of her 10 free-throw attempts and also pulled four rebounds to go with two assists and two steals in 38 minutes of action.
Following the victory, Miller was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week. Additionally, teammate Loryn Goodwin was tabbed as the national player of the week by ESPNW, the Big 12 Player of the Week and the College Sports Madness Big 12 Player of the Week.
The USBWA was formed in 1956 at the urging of then-NCAA Executive Director Walter Byers. With some 900 members worldwide, it is one of the most influential organizations in college basketball.
