STILLWATER- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its end-of-fall season rankings yesterday with three Cowboys making the lists.
Sophomore Mathieu Scaglia came in at No. 93 after racking up 10 singles wins in the fall season. Scaglia went undefeated at the Silverado Resort and Spa's College Invitational to help the team win the tournament to kick off the season. He then fought his way through the pre-qualifying round of the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships to reach the qualifying round where he won in the first round but fell in the second round to No. 37 ranked Leo Telles of Big 12 foe Texas. Scaglia also found success at the ITA Central Regional with his only other loss of the season coming from No. 17 Ferran Calvo of Oklahoma in the round of 32.
The doubles tandem of senior Julian Cash and freshman Maxim Tybar came at No. 30 in rankings. The pair only recorded one win this season, but it came at the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships against Louisville's No. 6 ranked Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff and Parker Wynn. The Cowboy duo had a quality loss in the second round of the main draw to the No. 3 ranked William Blumberg and Robert Kelly of North Carolina.
The Cowboys open their spring season January 14 with a double-header against Lamar at 2 p.m. and Bryant at 6:30 p.m.
