Babic Splits in Qualifying at ITA All-American Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Oklahoma State women's tennis senior Vladica Babic won her first-round match, but fell in her second in qualifying action at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships Tuesday afternoon at the Riviera Country Club.
Babic had little trouble in her first match of the day, opening with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Asiya Dair of Boston College in the first round of qualifying play. Matched up with Idaho's Marianna Petrei in the second round, however, Babic came up just short, falling 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
Babic and junior Sofia Blanco will open main draw doubles play at the event beginning Thursday.
