Cowboy Tennis Unveils 2017-18 Spring Schedule

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's tennis will go head-to-head with 16 schools that earned NCAA Tournament bids a season ago as part of its 2017-18 spring schedule, head coach Jay Udwadia announced today.
The squad will open up the spring slate with a home doubleheader against Lamar University and Bryant on Jan. 14.
Next, the Cowboys take on UMKC Jan. 19 at the Greenwood Tennis Center in a rematch of last season's first round matchup in the NCAA Tournament. Two days later, they travel to Arkansas to play their first away match of the spring season.
OSU will then host the ITA Kick-Off the following weekend, taking on Kentucky in the opening match and concluding with either Wisconsin or Mississippi State on Jan. 28.
The Cowboys will remain in Stillwater for the next week of the spring season as they face off with Wake Forest on Feb. 2, Tulane on Feb. 4. They'll wrap up the homestand against Northwestern on Feb. 9.
Following a trip to Seattle, Washington, for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, the Cowboys return to Stillwater briefly to face Omaha on Feb. 23. OSU then begins its long stretch on the road beginning with a double header in Dallas versus SMU and Oral Roberts on Feb. 25. The Cowboys then travel to the west coast where they will face Pepperdine on March 1.
OSU will continue its west coast visit in La Jolla, California, March 2 through March 4 at the prestigious Pacific Coast Doubles Championships. A Cowboy duo has won the event in the past three years with Nicolai Ferrigno and Lucas Gerch taking the crown in 2015, Arjun Kadhe and Julian Cash in 2016 and then Gerch and Kadhe this past year.
The Cowboys continue their travels when they face in-state rival Tulsa on March 9 and Memphis on March 11.
The squad returns back to the confines of the Greenwood Tennis Center March 16 to face Dartmouth before heading Maui to face the University of Hawaii on March 21.
Before getting into conference action, the Cowboys will complete the remainder of their non-conference schedule at home with Fresno State on March 28 and UCF on March 30.
The Cowboys will open Big 12 play at the Greenwood Tennis Center on April 6 against Texas Tech and April 8 against Baylor. Then, OSU will travel to Texas to face the Longhorns in Austin on April 13. The team then travels back up I-35 to play TCU on April 15.
OSU will conclude regular season action on their home court taking on Bedlam-rival Oklahoma on April 21. The squad will return to Austin the following weekend to compete in the Big 12 Championships.
