Forte Eclipses 1,500 Career Points In Loss To Baylor

WACO, Texas – Phil Forte, III, scored 17 points and was 5-of-7 behind the arc in Oklahoma State's 61-57 loss to No. 2 Baylor on Saturday night at the Ferrell Center.
Forte's five 3-pointers on the night gave him 282 career 3-pointers. The performance moved him to second place in OSU history and only 17 shy of the OSU career mark.
Forte also became just the 14th player in program history to reach the 1,500 point mark.
Jeffrey Carroll scored 14 points for the Cowboys, 11 of which were in the first half.
The Cowboys led at halftime 30-25, but a 6-0 run to start the second half gave the Bears momentum.
Al Freeman, made a pair of free throws to put the Bears ahead for good at 50-48 with a little more than six minutes remaining.
The Cowboys were within two in the final minute and had a chance to tie down three when leading scorer Jawun Evans missed a jumper and Manu Lecomte got the rebound.
The Bears had just seven offensive rebounds to 19 for the Cowboys.
Three players got into double digits for Baylor. Lecomte led the Bears with 17 points. Johnathan Motley added 13 and 10 rebounds, and Terry Maston scored 11.
Oklahoma State still leads the all-time series against Baylor, 54-25.
