Four Cowboys Reach Double-Digits In Loss To Iowa State

STILLWATER – Phil Forte, III, scored 24 points and was 9-of-11 from the floor in Oklahoma State's 96-86 loss to Iowa State on Wednesday night in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Four Cowboys managed to put up double-digit numbers against the Cyclones. Jeffrey Carroll recorded 21 points and seven rebounds, which now gives him six 20-point games on the season. Jawun Evans added 12 points and seven assists.
Cameron McGriff earned his first career start and posted 10 points. It was the freshman's fourth game in double figures.
Oklahoma State shot 52.4 percent from the floor, which is OSU's second-best shooting night of the season and the team's best in Big 12 play.
The Cowboys displayed impressive resilience bouncing back from an 11-point first half deficit to make it competitive, going ahead by as much as five late in the second half.
Forte's 3-pointer with 9:19 remaining put Oklahoma State ahead 67-62, but the Cyclones responded with a 17-4 run over the next six minutes, with eight consecutive points from Monte Morris, to seize control.
Morris led all scorers with 30 points and added five rebounds, five assists and four steals. Four other Cyclones were able to reach double-digits, including Matt Thomas with 19. Naz Mitrou-Long also contributed with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists.

The Cowboys will head to Lawrence, Kansas to face the Jayhawks. With their victory in 2013, the Cowboys are the last Big 12 team to win in Allen Fieldhouse, and Oklahoma State is the only team to beat the Jayhawks in each of the last four seasons.
