Cowgirls Handle TCU In Fort Worth, 82-67

FORT WORTH, Texas – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team got another double-double performance from junior Kaylee Jensen en route to an 82-67 victory over TCU on Wednesday night in front of 1,628 fans inside Schollmaier Arena.
With the win, the Cowgirls improved to 12-2 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 play, while the Horned Frogs dipped to 8-6 and 0-3.
Senior Diana Omozee scored the game's first seven points and the Cowgirls hit eight of their first 10 shots from the floor to take a double-digit lead halfway through the first.
In the second quarter, the Horned Frogs pulled with six before senior Katelyn Loecker knocked down consecutive jumpers to push the lead back to double figures. With two minutes remaining in the half, TCU took advantage of an OSU turnover, drilling a 3-pointer to pull within 29-27.
However, the Cowgirls closed the half on a 9-0 run over the final minute, including a five-point possession that featured a trey from freshman Rodrea Echols and a pair of free throws from Omozee. Freshman Areanna Combs' run-through steal and layup to end the half sent the Cowgirls into the break with a 41-31 lead.
In the half, OSU shot 53 percent and assisted on 13 of its 16 field goals. The Cowgirls also owned a 24-11 rebounding advantage.
In the third period, TCU got within two with less than two minutes remaining before OSU scored the final four points of the quarter to take a 58-52 lead into the final 10 minutes.
Less than a minute into the final period, the Cowgirls got a 3-pointer from sophomore Karli Wheeler in the corner to extend to a nine-point advantage and led by 11 before TCU countered with a quick 5-0 run to get within two possessions with seven minutes remaining.
However, Jensen proved too much, scoring eight points in the final period to put the game away. She finished with game highs of 25 points and 15 rebounds to secure her seventh double-double of the year.
For the second game in a row, Omozee set a new career high with 15 points.
The Cowgirls, who shot 54 percent for the contest, also finished the game with a 50-22 advantage in the rebounding department.
OSU will be back in action on Saturday when they return home to face Baylor at 2 p.m.
