Cowboys Open Season At Pebble Beach

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will open its fall season on Friday when it begins play at the sixth annual Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
The fourth-ranked Cowboys, who won the tournament by six shots a year ago, will be grouped with Ohio State, TCU and Arkansas for their first round at the par-72, 6,828-yard layout. Play will get underway at 7 a.m. (PST).
Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas Tech and Vanderbilt round out the field at the event, which will utilize a 6-count-5 format. The tournament will consist of 54 holes over three days with the last round taking place on Sunday.
The OSU lineup will feature juniors Sam Stevens and Kristoffer Ventura as well as sophomores Zach Bauchou, Nick Heinen and Hayden Wood. Freshman Viktor Hovland will round out the lineup as he makes his Cowboy debut.
A year ago, OSU posted a 1,075 total to finish six strokes clear of Georgia with Stevens and Heinen sharing fourth place to come in as the squad's top finishers.
