August 01, 2016 | Cowboy Tennis
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's men's tennis has unveiled its fall schedule for the 2016-17 season, which includes the Cowboys hosting the ITA Central Regional in October.
The Cowboys will start the fall slate by heading to Napa Valley for a fifth-straight year, where OSU looks to defend its title at the Silverado Invitational. Following that, the Cowboys will make their way to Louisiana for the 2016 Cajun Classic. Last season, Arjun Kadhe advanced to the quarterfinals in the event, while Julian Cash made his debut and earned his first win as a Cowboy after transferring from Mississippi State.
OSU will also get to showcase its talent on a national stage by competing in the ITA All-American Championships, which will be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After that, the Pokes will make the journey to Harlingen, Texas for the F32 Futures before returning to Stillwater to host the ITA Central Regional at the Greenwood Tennis Center, which begins on October 20.
The fall season will wrap up the following week as OSU heads to Flushing Meadows, New York to compete in the ITA National Indoor Championships on November 3.
The Cowboys will return seven players from last season's team that compiled 20 wins and advanced to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. Among those are Arjun Kadhe and Julian Cash, who earned All-America honors in doubles and finished the year ranked No. 7 by the ITA. The duo's success marked the third All-America honor for Kadhe, making him just the third Cowboy to ever achieve that feat.
OSU's roster also includes Lucas Gerch, who leads all current Cowboys with 62 career singles victories. Tristan Meraut, Lukas Finzelberg, Jurence Mendoza and Nathan Roper round out the rest of OSU's returners, but the Cowboys' roster will also include incoming freshman Mathieu Scaglia.
The spring portion of OSU's schedule will be announced at a later date.
