Cowboys Selected As Host For ITA Kick-Off Weekend

STILLWATER – Fresh off its trip to the NCAA Tournament round of 16, Oklahoma State men's tennis was one of 16 collegiate teams selected to host ITA Kick-Off Weekend in January of 2017.
The tournament will take place from January 27-28 and consist of four teams. Oklahoma State is the one seed and matches up with four seeded Columbia in the first round, while two seeded Kentucky battles three seeded Tulsa.
The winners of each match will face off in the final on Jan. 28th for a spot in the 2017 ITA National Team Indoor Championships on Feb. 17-20.
In 2016, OSU traveled to Fort Worth for ITA Kick-Off Weekend and defeated No. 32 Harvard in the opening round of the tournament to give coach Jay Udwadia his 200th career victory. The Pokes then went on to play host and No. 3 TCU in the final, but would fall to the Horned Frogs in a thriller, 4-3.
The Cowboys won't be the only OSU tennis team hosting ITA Kick-Off Weekend as the Cowgirls were also selected to host the tournament on Jan. 28-29 and will find out the remaining three teams that will be heading to Stillwater later this afternoon.
This will be the first time in OSU men's tennis history that the Cowboys will be hosting the event as the Cowgirls hosted the event last year at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
