Cash & Kadhe Make Big Leap in Final Oracle/ITA Rankings
June 01, 2016 | Cowboy Tennis
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Julian Cash and Arjun Kadhe made tremendous jumps in the latest and final Oracle/ITA Singles and Doubles Rankings, released on Wednesday.
Cash was ranked No. 56 in the singles poll entering the NCAA Tennis Championships, but after an upset win over No. 8 Ryan Shane of Virginia in the Sweet 16, the Cowboy leaped up eight spots in the final poll to No. 48.
The sophomore finished the season with a record of 20-12 in singles and beat six ranked opponents in the spring, including wins over four top-20 foes.
In the doubles poll, Cash/Kadhe cemented their spot in the top 10 as they moved up three spots to No. 7 in the rankings. The talented duo reached the quarterfinals at the NCAA Doubles Championship, which marked the third-straight season that an OSU doubles team had made an appearance in the quarterfinals and received All-American status.
Kadhe became the first Cowboy in program history to earn three career doubles All-American honors and the third player ever to be named an All-American three times, joining Oleksandr Nedovyesov and his former doubles parter, Jakob Sude.
Cash also received his second career All-American honor in doubles play and his first at Oklahoma State.
The two Cowboys finished the year with 35 doubles victories and two tournament titles, while holding a spot in the top 15 of the Oracle/ITA Rankings throughout the entire season.
With the season gone, that means OSU's Tennis Camps aren't too far away. Two camps will get started next week and those interested in participating can register and find more information at osutenniscamps.com.
