Cash Earns ITA Player To Watch Award

TEMPE, Ariz. – Oklahoma State's Julian Cash was named the 2015-16 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region Player to Watch, it was announced on Monday.
To be named a Regional ITA Player to Watch, the player must have been ranked nationally or regionally and be one of the top returning regional players next year.
The sophomore becomes the second Cowboy in program history to earn the award as he joins three-time All-American Oleksandr Nedovyesov received the honor three times during his career.
Cash collected 18 singles wins and 32 doubles victories with partner Arjun Kadhe. Cash defeated five ranked opponents in singles play this year, including a 6-4, 6-2 victory over No. 7 Andre Goransson of California.
Ranked No. 56, Cash also earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors twice, which made him only the third Cowboy in program history to receive the weekly honor multiple times in a season.
In doubles, Cash and Kadhe teamed up to win the 127th Pacific Coast Doubles Championship in March and reached as high as No. 5 (three times) in the Oracle/ITA Rankings, which puts them as the third-highest ranked tandem in Cowboy tennis history.
After such an incredible season, Cash helped the Cowboys reach the NCAA Tournament for a third straight season and earned a spot in the NCAA Men's Tennis Singles & Doubles Championship with Kadhe.
The Pokes will host an NCAA Regional for the first time since 2007 this weekend in Stillwater as Arkansas and Wichita State kickoff the action on Saturday at 9 a.m. and the Cowboys take on Bryant at noon.
The Cowgirls are also hosting an NCAA Regional with play starting on Friday with Tulsa and Arkansas at 10 a.m. and OSU vs. Albany following them at 1 p.m.
