May 24, 2016 | Cowboy Tennis
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Julian Cash and Arjun Kadhe will conclude their 2015-16 season this week at the NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The two Cowboys will team up for the doubles championship, while Cash will also participate in the singles championship.
Cash/Kadhe, ranked No. 10, had a strong season in doubles play as the Cowboy duo combined for 33 victories throughout the fall and spring and won the 127th Pacific Coast Doubles Championship in March. Kadhe will be competing in his third NCAA Doubles Championship and has had tremendous success at the tournament the past two years by finishing in the quarterfinals with former doubles partner Jakob Sude to receive All-American status. The two were the first duo in Cowboy tennis history to earn two All-American honors together.
If Cash/Kadhe reach the quarterfinals at the doubles tournament, Kadhe would become only the third Cowboy in program history to earn three All-American honors. The talented OSU duo will face No. 17 Benjamin Lock/Marco Nunez of Florida State in the first round on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. CT.
Cash will make his first career appearance in the singles championship when he faces Illinois' Aleks Vukic in the opening round of the tournament. The All-American is coming off an impressive sophomore campaign where he collected 20 singles wins and was the second Cowboy in program history to be named the ITA Central Region Player to Watch. The Englishman will have some momentum heading into the singles tournament after an upset victory over No. 8 Ryan Shane of Virginia in the Sweet 16 of the team championships, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
