STILLWATER – Arkansas will return to Gallagher-Iba Arena to face the Oklahoma State basketball team for the first time since 2002 as a part of the 2017 SEC/Big 12 Challenge presented by Sonic on Jan. 28.
The two programs are separated by less than 180 miles, but have not met on the hardwood since Dec. 20, 2003 (73-58 OSU win in Fayetteville). The Cowboys have won nine of the last 10 meetings against the Razorbacks, and lead the series, 36-14, overall, including a 12-1 edge inside historic GIA.
OSU is 2-1 in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, including a 79-52 win over South Carolina in 2013-14 in its lone home contest in the Challenge. Last season, the Cowboys went to Auburn and won, 74-63, thanks to 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists from Big 12 Freshman of the Year, Jawun Evans.
For the second straight year, all games in the Challenge will be played in one day - Saturday, January 28. ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU will combine to televise every contest of the fourth annual event matching every Big 12 sq uad with 10 members from the SEC. Each league will host five games. In addition, ESPN's College GameDay Covered by State Farm will originate from a to-be-determined site of one of the day's games.
