Cowgirls Ready To Host Albany In NCAA Regional

The Basics
Oklahoma State's women's tennis squad, ranked No. 12, returns to the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center to host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tennis Championship for the second-straight season.
The Cowgirls (24-4; 9-0 Big 12) enter the tournament as the No. 12 seed and will take on Albany on Friday at 1 p.m.
OSU enters the tournament after capturing both the Big 12 regular season and postseason titles.

In The ITA Rankings
The Cowgirls enter the match ranked No. 12 in the Oracle/ITA rankings.
Kelsey Laurente and Maria Alvarez are ranked as the No. 42 doubles tandem in the country.
Viktoriya Lushkova and Carla Tur Mari are ranked No. 54 in the latest doubles rankings.
Vladica Babic and Katarina Adamovic hold the No. 79 ranking.
Babic is the highest ranked Cowgirl in singles, earning the No. 44 spot. Adamovic is ranked No. 47.
Lushkova checks in at the No. 66 spot in the latest ITA rankings.
Big 12 Champs
The Cowgirls secured at least a share of the Big 12 Championship with a win against No. 34 TCU, 4-1, inside the Greenwood Tennis Center on April 17.
The Cowgirls won the title outright the following week with a 4-0 victory against Kansas State in Manhattan. The regular season title is the first for the Cowgirls since 2001. OSU outscored conference opponents 36-5 during Big 12 play.
OSU also won the conference tournament, as they strung together three-straight shutouts against Kansas State, Kansas and Texas Tech to secure the first conference tournament title since 2003.
Welcome To Our House
The Cowgirls have taken advantage of tremendous crowds inside the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center throughout the season.
OSU has yet to lose at home this season and has won 22-straight matches at home dating back to last season.
Sixteen of the 24 Cowgirl wins have come at home. The Cowgirls have outscored opponents 117-28 during the spring season.
The Pokes have recorded 12 shutouts inside the Greenwood Tennis Center this season.
Scouting The Opponent
Albany enters the first round of the NCAA Championship as the champions of the American East Conference. The Great Danes (14-7) have won 6 matches on the road this season and knocked off Stony Brook, 4-2, in the America East Championship to secure an automatic bid.
Heating Up
Each of the Cowgirls are currently on a winning streak in singles play. Adamovic has won two matches since her last defeat. Babic has won six-straight matches, including the clinching match of the Big 12 Championship against Texas Tech.
Katarina Stresnakova is currently on a two-match win streak, while Laurente has come out victorious in her last seven matches.
Lushkova has won 12-straight matches, 11 of which have come in straight sets. Carla Tur Mari is on a three-match streak, including two wins during the Big 12 tournament.Â
Dominant Doubles
The Cowgirls have had one of the most dominant doubles lineups in the country. OSU has won 26-of-27 doubles points so far this season.
All three main Cowgirl duos are ranked in the ITA doubles rankings. Kelsey Laurente and Maria Alvarez, ranked No. 42, lead the charge for the Pokes at the No. 1 position.
Viktoriya Lushkova and Carla Tur Mari, ranked No. 54, have accounted for a 30-6 doubles record this season, including a 23-3 mark in dual matches.
Katarina Adamovic and Vladica Babic, ranked No. 79, have put together a 28-3 record this season, with 23 wins in spring competition. Adamovic and Babic have won 15 matches since their last loss, which came in February.Â
Best In The Big 12
Throughout the season, Oklahoma State had four different players earn Big 12 Player of the Week recognition.
Viktoriya Lushkova was the first Cowgirl to win the honor back on February 9. On March 2, Kelsey Laurente was awarded the honor.
Katarina Adamovic and Vladica Babic won the honor in consecutive weeks, with Adamovic winning on April 20 and Babic receiving the honor on April 27.
The 2016 season is the first time that four Cowgirls have been named player of the week.

Potential Second Round Opponents
The Arkansas Razorbacks and Tulsa Golden Hurricane round out the Stillwater Regional and will face each other on May 13 at 10 a.m., with the winner advancing to the second round.
OSU defeated both teams during the regular season. The Cowgirls dominated Arkansas 6-1 in Fayetteville in a February meeting.
The Cowgirls swept the Golden Hurricane, 4-0, on March 29 inside the Greenwood Tennis Center.
Tulsa is currently ranked No. 28 by the ITA and Arkansas is ranked No. 33.
