Friday will be more of the same as the multi-events wrap up starting at noon and running until 4.
The Shootout Saturday begins at 11 a.m., with the women's hammer throw.
At 2:30, the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase kicks off the running events and the meet as a whole will conclude at 6 p.m., as the women run the 4X400-meter relay.
Last Time Out
Under the lights at Cobb Track, Cerake Geberkidane ran a Big 12 best 13:51.79 in the 5,000-meter run.
Geberkidane was the 5,000-meter champion in the Big 12 during the indoor season, and is competing in his first outdoor season as a Cowboy after sitting out his freshman year in 2015. His time was the ninth best among collegiate athletes at the meet, and is the fifth best time in the West region so far.
Aurora Dybedokken smashed her personal best my more than one minute in the 5,000-meter run, crossing the finish line in 16:03.72. Her time is the fifth-best in school history and is the fourth-fastest time in the West.
Ealey continued her hot streak Friday at Stanford with another fantastic outing in the shot put, this time winning the event by two feet.
She threw a 17.25m/56-7.25 foot mark to earn her second victory of the season. Ealey is one of only five women this season to produce throws of more than 17 meters, and the only woman to throw three marks of 17 meters or better in the 2016 outdoor season.
Freshman standouts Jacob Fincham-Dukes and Simon Imagbe made the trip to Palo Alto and both Cowboys put up their second-best jumps of the season.
Savannah Camacho made her season debut in her home state of California and finished second in heat No. 2 of the 1,500-meter run with a personal best time of 4:17.56. It was just her first 1,500 of her Cowgirl career, but the decorated middle-distance runner's time is the third fastest in school history, and the best time in the conference this season.
Anna Boyert and Clara Nichols also ran in the 1,500. Nichols won section four in 4:23.90 and Boyert finished eighth in section three in 4:23.61.
Nichols returned to the track Saturday in the 800. Nichols was a late entry, but cruised to another heat win in 2:05.87.
On the men's side, Craig Nowak finished second in his heat of the 1,500, running a Big 12 leading 3:46.75 in his 2016 outdoor debut.
In the longest race of the night, Natalie Baker finished 18th in section two of the 10,000-meter run, and her time of 34:12.59 puts her at eighth in school history and is the fastest time by a Cowgirl since 2011.
Cowgirl sophomore and English international Kaylee Dodd also ran in the 800 with Nichols, finishing second in heat three in 2:07.31.
The Cowboy 4X100-meter relay team bounced back at the Bobcat Invitational after a 21st place finish Friday morning at the Texas Relays.
The quartet, led by three-time All-American John Teeters, ran nearly a second faster than at the Relays, winning the event in 40.64 seconds, but still four-hundredths of a second behind their season's best time from the Arkansas Spring Invitational.
A Look Back
Last season, the Pokes forwent the Jim Click Invitational for the John McDonnell Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
National Champion Chad Noelle made his 2015 outdoor debut at the meet and won the 1,500 with a time of 3:43.80.
The Cowboys went on to finish first through fourth in the event.
The Cowboy 4X100-meter team won the event in 40.10 seconds for their best time of the regular season and to qualify for the West Regional.
Kaela Edwards also made her 2015 debut, but in the 400, and Aurora Dybedokken finished third in the 1,500.
Men's Entries:
Arlando Brewer-Johnson, Sean Casey, Jacob Fincham-Dukes, Tanner Green, Anthony Grogan Jr., Wesley Hallof, Simon Imagbe, Tyler Jackson, Trenton Daniels, Tre'Tez Kinnaird, Donovan Nunley, Sharod Selph, Brandon Singleton, John Teeters, Josh Thompson, Cole Verble, Ryan Wheatley
Cowboys Soar 15 Spots, Cowgirls Move to 23
The Cowboy and Cowgirl track and field teams each appeared in the first official poll of the 2016 season, released Monday by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
After being left out of the preseason top-25, the Cowboys jumped 15 spots to 21 in the week one poll to become the third-highest ranked Big 12 team, behind only fourth-ranked Texas and No. 12 Texas Tech, and ahead of fellow conference affiliate TCU.
On the women's side, the Cowgirls jumped one spot to 23 and are one of five Big 12 teams in the poll.
Cerake Geberkidane is the only Cowboy in the top-35 in the nation in an event, ranking 28th in the 5,000-meter run with his time from the Stanford Invitational.
Four Cowgirls own top-35 spots, with Chase Ealey leading the way at No. 4 in the shot put. Savannah Camacho in the 1,500, Aurora Dybedokken in the 5,000 and Clara Nichols in the 800 are the other remaining Cowgirls with top marks.
Newcomers Making a Mark
It's early in the season, but the Oklahoma State newcomers are already making their presences known.
Jacob Fincham-Dukes made his outdoor debut for the Cowboys at the Tulsa Duels this weekend in both the 200-meter dash and the long jump. The English international won the long jump with a 7.46m/24-5.75 foot leap, edging out the second-place finisher by five inches. He also ran in the 200-meter dash and finished 12th in 22.58 seconds.
His long jump mark put him at No. 7 on the Cowboy top-10 list, putting him on his second top-10 list in just his first three months with OSU.
In her first appearance for the Cowgirls after transferring from Ft. Hays State over the winter, Megan Honas threw a 47.43m/155-7.50 in the javelin to win the competition at the 2016 Tulsa Duels. Her throw set the school record in the javelin, breaking Chase Ealey's record from a season ago by three feet.
The Pokes have only competed in one meet this season, but the future looks bright after the marks put up by both Fincham-Dukes and Honas.
Season Sweep?
The Cowboy track and field team is in a unique position heading into the outdoor season.
For just the second time in conference history, a team has the opportunity to sweep the cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field Big 12 Championships. The only other team in Big 12 history to be in this position was the 2013-14 Cowboy squad that finished third at the outdoor championships.
The task will not be easy, though. After finishing third at indoors in 2015, the Cowboys finished sixth at last year's outdoor championships, scoring 69 points and bringing home three individual titles, including the 10K, 5K and 1,500-meter championships.
If OSU can pull off the unprecedented, it will not just be its first Big 12 outdoor title in school history, but its first team title since 1957, when the school was still Oklahoma A&M.
The Pokes' highest finish at the outdoor championships since joining the Big 12 is the third-place finish from 2014, but OSU did nab back-to-back runners-up finishes in the Big 8 back in 1959 and 1960.
