2016 Outdoors: Secured a spot int he West Preliminary Rounds with a 3:41.88 at the Stanford Twilight... Advanced to the Big 12 finals of the 800-and 1,500-meter runs with the top-times of the prelims... Finished in the top-10 in every race during his OSU outdoor debut season, including four finishes in the top-two with three being wins... Made it into the Cowboy record book with his time from the Stanford Twilight, it sits at eighth in OSU history.
2016 Indoors: Earned the USTFCCCA Midwest Regional Athlete of the Year honor for his breakout indoor season with the Cowboys... Ran the anchor-leg for the school-record setting DMR team... Took home his first All-America honor with a fifth-place finish in the DMR at the NCAA Championships... Ran the sixth-best mile in school history when he brought his personal best down 12 seconds in less than a month... Scored 20 points for the Pokes at the Big 12 Championships by winning the 1,000-meter and mile conference titles.
2015 Cross Country: Debuted for the Cowboys with a second-place finish at the Cowboy Preview... Earned Big 12 Cross Country Newcomer of the Year honors with his 10th place finish at the conference championships... Finished sixth at the Cowboy Jamboree... Took 101st at the NCAA Championships.
High School: Won two cross country state titles for Moapa Valley High School in Moapa Valley, Nevada... Won teo 3,200-meter titles as well as winning the state championship in basketball.
Personal: Born May 9, 1993 in Las Vegas, Nevada... Son of Brent and Erinn Thompson... Thompson is an Eagle Scout and spent two years on mission in Nicaragua.
