Cowgirl Tennis Stays In Top 15

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team checked in at No. 15 in the latest Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, which were released on Tuesday.
The Cowgirls were crowned Big 12 champions over the weekend they defeated Kansas State last Friday in Manhattan, Kansas. The conference title was the first regular season crown for OSU since 2001.
OSU (21-4) finished conference play with a 9-0 record and outscored Big 12 opponents 36-5 during the season.
The Cowgirls are one of three Big 12 teams in the top 25 of the newest rankings, as Texas Tech (No. 19) and Texas (No. 24) are also featured.
Three Cowgirls remain staples in the Oracle/ITA individual rankings. Vladica Babic is the highest-ranked Cowgirl at No. 45. Babic earned two singles victories over the weekend against the Wildcats and Kansas Jayhawks.
Katarina Adamovic checks in at No. 47 with 15 wins overall this season.
Viktoriya Lushkova is No. 66 in the ITA rankings, as she has put together an 18-1 record in spring competition.
All three Cowgirl doubles pairings have been recognized by the ITA in the latest rankings. Seniors Kelsey Laurente and Maria Alvarez continue to lead the way for the Cowgirls, as the duo is No. 42 after picking up two doubles wins over the weekend.
Lushkova and Carla Tur Mari hold the No. 60 position with a 21-2 doubles record this spring.
Adamovic and Babic improved to 20-1 in doubles this spring, which earned them the No. 71 position.
The Cowgirls will serve as host to the Big 12 Women's Tennis Championship this week at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center.
