Cowboys Kadhe/Cash Win Pacific Coast Doubles Title
March 06, 2016 | Cowboy Tennis
LA JOLLA, California – Oklahoma State's All-American tennis duo Arjun Kadhe/Julian Cash joined the likes of John McEnroe and Arthur Ashe on Sunday as they were crowned the Pacific Coast Doubles champions.
The prestigious title is the second tournament Kadhe/Cash have won this season as they took the ITA All-American Championships back draw title back in October. Also, the No. 15-ranked duo makes it back-to-back years that an Oklahoma State doubles team has won the tournament with Cowboys Nicolai Ferrigno/Lucas Gerch winning it last year.
In their semifinals match, the Pokes faced a tough test in seven seeded Tyler Browne/J.T. Nishimura. The All-American tandem proved to be too much for the California duo with Kadhe/Cash winning in straight-sets, 6-3, 6-3.
After awaiting the winner of the other semifinals match, Kadhe/Cash found themselves matched up with Stanford's Fawcett/Romanwicz in the championship. The Cowboys took the first set tiebreak 7-1 and would use that momentum from the first set to propel themselves to a straight-set finals victory over Thomas Fawcett/Maciek Romanwicz, 7-6(1), 6-4.
Up next for Kadhe/Cash and the rest of the Cowboy tennis squad is a doubleheader on Sunday at the Greenwood Tennis Center. The first match will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the Pokes taking on Iowa and following that match they will face-off against Lamar at 3 p.m.
