Kadhe/Cash Continue Run At Pacific Coast Doubles

LA JOLLA, California - Oklahoma State's men's tennis duo Arjun Kadhe/Julian Cash continued their successful run at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championship by collecting two more victories and advancing to the semifinals on Saturday at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club.
No. 15-ranked Kadhe/Cash breezed through the fourth round with a straight-set victory over Stanford's Nolan Paige/David Wilczynski, 6-4, 6-3. In the quarterfinals, the All-Americans found themselves matched up with UCLA's Max Cressy/Martin Redlicki. The match was tight from the start as Kadhe/Cash won the tiebreak in the first, but would drop the second. In the third, the two duos continued to be deadlocked until the Cowboys gained some ground at the end to win the third set, 7-5.
Pokes Lukas Finzelberg/Jurence Mendoza faced Baylor's Jimmy Bendeck/Julian Lenz in their fourth round match. The Cowboys split the first two sets against their conference foes and the third set would come down to a tiebreak.
In the tiebreak, the two duos exchanged the first few points before Bendeck/Lenz pulled away and won the match, 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(3).
Oklahoma State's Temur Ismailov/Lucas Gerch faced a familiar opponent in California's Filip Bergevi/Florian Lakat in the round of 16. Bergevi/Lakat jumped out to a hot start by taking the first set 6-2, but the Cowboys would put up a fight in the second set by extending it to an extra game. In the end, the California duo bounced back from their loss to the Pokes on Thursday with a 6-2, 7-5, defeat of Ismailov/Gerch on Saturday.
In the semifinals tomorrow, Kadhe/Cash will take on Tyler Browne/J.T. Nishimura at 10:30 a.m. PT for a spot in the finals.
