Cowgirls Host Missouri State in Midweek Showdown

STILLWATER, Okla. --- The Oklahoma State Softball team hosts Missouri State Wednesday inside Cowgirl Stadium. The Cowgirls have won six of their last seven games and currently have a four-game winning streak. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. and admission is free.

The Cowgirls are 11-11 on the year and hitting .288 as a team. OSU is led at the plate by freshman Taylor Lynch, who is hitting .393 in 21 games. The Cowgirls have belted 19 home runs, including five from senior Tiffany Mikkelson and freshman Madi Sue Montgomery.

In the circle, OSU has utilized three pitchers. Junior Brandi Needham and senior Kacy Freeze have handled most of the innings for the Cowgirls. Junior Shea Coats has made seven appearances this season.

Oklahoma State leads the all-time series with MSU, 27-7. However, Missouri State defeated the Cowgirls, 5-1, in their last meeting on March 9, 2014.

Missouri State finished second in the Missouri Valley last season and is 10-12 this year. The Bears have dropped their last four games. As a team, MSU is hitting .253 and has a 3.25 ERA.
