Cowgirls Secure Fourth Consecutive NCAA Berth

STILLWATER, Okla.— Oklahoma State's women's basketball team earned a spot in the NCAA Championship field for the fourth year in a row it was announced tonight.
The Cowgirls will be the No. 7 seed in the Dallas Region. OSU will face 10th-seeded St. Bonaventure on March 18 at 7:30 p.m. (EST) in Corvallis, Ore. The meeting will be the first between the two schools since OSU won the only previous matchup, 68-59, in 1997.
The contest will be televised by ESPN2 with a spot in the second round against the Oregon State-Troy winner on the line.
"We're very excited. These kids are very deserving of an NCAA bid and we've got to go to work to find some things out about St. Bonaventure and get a scout started as quick as possible, but we need to enjoy this. It doesn't happen to everyone," OSU head coach Jim Littell said.
"To go to our fourth straight NCAA Tournament is a very proud moment for our program."
OSU will enter the event with a record of 21-9, while St. Bonaventure has a mark of 23-7.
OSU is 10-13 all time in NCAA action, including three Sweet 16 appearances with the most recent coming two years ago.
This year's NCAA appearance extends OSU's school-record string of postseason bids to 10. The Cowgirls made NCAA appearances in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2015. OSU participated in the WNIT in 2009 and 2011 before winning its first-ever WNIT title in 2012.
