Cowgirls Notch Fifth Top-Five Finish Of The Year At Bruin Wave Invite

Final Results

SAN LUIS OBISPO – Calif. – The Oklahoma State women's golf team finished tied for fourth at the Bruin Wave Invitational, which is the team's fifth top-five finish in seven events this season.

The team shot a final round of 298 led by the play of Maddie McCrary. The sophomore finished fourth after a 2-under final round that saw her jump eight spots up the leaderboard. A front nine 33 that included an eagle set the tone early for her round.

McCrary also finished tied for the best par 3 scoring in the tournament at 1-under. The fourth place finish matches her season high set at the Landfall Tradition in October.

Co-hosts UCLA swept the tournament taking home both the team and individual titles. The Bruins won as a team at 2-over finishing six strokes ahead of second place Arizona State.

Teammates Louise Ridderstrom and Bronte Law finshed the tournament at 3-under and a sudden death playoff was needed. Two holes were needed as the women tied on the first hole but Ridderstrom came away victorious by making par on the second playoff hole.

Linnea Johansson was another top ten finisher for the Cowgirls as she finished tied for ninth at 3-over. Johansson also had the second most birdies in the tournament with 11.

Emma Broze shot a 1-under 71 final round to finish 21st in her first tournament of the spring.

Chih-Min Chen finished tied for 28th at 13-over and Kenzie Neisen finished tied for 64th at 22-over.

The Cowgirls will be back in action this weekend as they travel to Hilton Head Island, S.C., to compete in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate.
