February 27, 2016 | Cowgirl Golf
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Coming off a second place finish last weekend in New Orleans, the Oklahoma State women's golf team will look to keep its momentum going at the Bruin Wave Invitational on Monday.
The No. 13 Cowgirls have finished in the top five in three of the last four years at this event, which is held at the San Luis Obispo Country Club. Last year, OSU finished third with a 37-over 901.
Oklahoma State is entering Monday's opening round on a high after a second-place at the Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate last weekend. Freshman Chih-Min Chen earned a seventh-place finish after a solid 1-over 73 in the final round.
Linnea Johansson was only a stroke behind Chen, and finished in a tie for 11th place.
The Cowgirls still own the nation's best par-five scoring average at 4.81, which could help OSU on the 6,250-yard, par 72 course.
