Cowboys Continue To Rise In Oracle/ITA Rankings
February 17, 2016 | Cowboy Tennis
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's men's tennis squad crawled up two spots to No. 15 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Rankings, released on Wednesday.
The top-15 spot in the polls marks the highest ranking by a Cowboy Tennis squad since 2006 when Oklahoma State reached as high as No. 11 in the ITA rankings.
The Pokes can credit the jump in the rankings to the six victories they have over ranked opponents this season, including wins over No. 5 Wake Forest and No. 30 North Carolina State at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
With Texas back in the top-25, the Big 12 remains to be the most talented conference in the country with TCU at No. 3, Oklahoma at No. 8, Texas Tech at No. 10, Baylor at No. 13, OSU at No. 15 and Texas at No. 24.
After having the past week off to rest up, the Cowboy Tennis squad hits the court again on Friday against Georgia State. The match will begin at 5 p.m. CT and will be played at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
