Johansson Earns First Career Big 12 Golfer Of The Month Award

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State senior Linnea Johansson was named the 2016-17 season's first Big 12 Golfer of the Month, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon.
It was the first career monthly award for the WGCA All-American, who closed out the month of September ranked as the No. 17 player in the country according to Golfstat. She tallied 31 birdies in her first six competitive rounds, which tied for the national lead.
Johansson tied for third at the Dick McGuire Invitational with a score of 206, which ties for the second-best 54-hole score in Cowgirl history. She ended September with a 69.50 stroke average.
This marks the 13th time a Cowgirl has been named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month, and is the second in a row for OSU. Kenzie Neisen won the final Big 12 Golfer of the Month award of 2016 after her victory at the conference championships in April.
