Cash's Run Comes To An End In Texas

HARLINGEN, Texas – Oklahoma State tennis' Julian Cash dropped a hard-fought match in the Harlingen Country Club Men's $25,000 Futures Round of 32 on Tuesday, ending his run at the ITF tournament.
In his matchup with Dominik Koepfer, Cash found himself in an early hole as he trailed 3-1 in the first set, but the Cowboy rallied and eventually took a 5-4 lead. Koepfer proved to be too strong in the early going however as he produced his own comeback and won the set in a back-and-forth tiebreak. Koepfer carried his momentum through the second set as he sealed his victory over the Cowboy, 7-6 (4), 6-3.
The loss brought an end to Cash's week at the Harlingen Country Club, but the Brighton, England native did showcase his talent during the event as he was one of the tournament's standouts during qualifying play, tallying three consecutive straight-set victories to secure his spot in the main draw.
Cash's teammate, Arjun Kadhe, will compete in his own main draw matchup tomorrow morning as he is slated to face off with John McNally.
Later in the week the Cowboys are set return to Stillwater as they prepare to host the ITA Central Region Championship, which begins on Thursday. The tournament marks the first time that OSU will compete at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center this season.
