Cash and Kadhe Move On To Final Qualifying Round

HARLINGEN, Texas – Oklahoma State tennis' Julian Cash and Arjun Kadhe both picked up wins in the second round of qualifying at the Harlingen Country Club Men's $25,000 Futures event on Sunday.
Both Cash and Kadhe won their matches in straight sets to advance to Monday's third round of singles qualifying action.
Cash squared off with Aleksandre Bakshi in his second matchup of the weekend. The two competitors traded games throughout the first set before Cash won a tiebreak between the two to take the early lead in the match. Cash was able to continue his excellent play in the the second set as he picked up his second straight-set victory of the tournament and will now face Gonzalo Achondo with a spot in the main draw on the line.
Kadhe, who received a first-round bye, cruised through his first action of the week as he knocked off Yates Johnson in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. The Pune, India native will look to advance into the singles main draw tomorrow when he goes head-to-head with Hunter Johnson.
Jurence Mendoza was the third Cowboy to compete at the ITF event on Sunday as he matched up with Korey Lovett in the second round. Mendoza struggled to find his rhythm in the contest and ultimately fell to the American, 6-2, 6-1.
The final qualifying matches will take place tomorrow morning at the Harlingen Country Club before the main draw begins on Tuesday. The Cowboys will be back in Stillwater later in the week though as they are set to host this year's ITA Central Regional Championship, which is slated to begin on Thursday.
