Cowboys Jump Into Top-25
January 27, 2016 | Cowboy Tennis
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team jumped three spots to No. 25 in the latest Oracle/ITA Rankings, released on Wednesday. This is the third consecutive week the Pokes are inside the top-30 of the ITA Rankings and their first week inside the top-25.
The spike in the rankings comes after an impressive showing at the ITA Kick-Off this past weekend, where the Cowboys shutout No. 32 Harvard and went the distance against No. 3 TCU in a thriller.
Oklahoma State is one of five Big 12 teams in the top-25, as No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 3 TCU, No. 5 Baylor, and No. 14 Texas Tech join the Pokes. Texas is the only Big 12 team not inside the top-25, but they are right behind the Cowboys at No. 26.
The Pokes will look to continue their rise in the rankings this weekend with No. 11 Wake Forest and No. 22 Minnesota coming to Stillwater. Oklahoma State will face the Demon Deacons on Friday at 6 p.m. and the Golden Gophers at noon on Sunday with both matches taking place at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
