Cash Named Big 12 Player Of The Week

IRVING, Texas -- Oklahoma State's Julian Cash was named Big 12 Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday. This is the first time in his Cowboy career that the sophomore has earned the prestigious honor.Â
At the ITA Kick-Off Championship in Fort Worth, Texas, Cash clinched an initial match victory for the Cowboys with a straight-set victory (7-5, 6-1) over Harvard's Sebastian Beltrame.
In the championship dual on Sunday against No. 3 TCU, the sophomore topped No. 24 ranked Guillermo Nunez (7-6(4), 6-7(4), 6-4) to square the team score at three points apiece. The Brighton, England native also had success on the doubles court, defeating the No. 44 ranked duo in Nicky Hu and Brian Yeung of Harvard (6-3).
Cash and the Cowboys will look to continue their success this weekend at the Greenwood Tennis Center, as they host No. 11 Wake Forest on Friday at 6 p.m. and No. 22 Minnesota on Sunday at noon.
