- The win is OSU's 100th at Gallagher-Iba Arena under head coach Travis Ford (100-20).
- The Cowboys tipped off the 20th season of Big 12 play against the Horned Frogs. OSU has won every Big 12 opener at home since 2001.
- OSU has not allowed either of its last two opponents to score more than 25 points in either half.
- Jeff Newberry tallied a career-high tying 23 points in his first game without the facemask he had worn in each of the last four games. He now has 19 career double-digit games.
- The Cowboys blocked eight shots as a team, and are now 8-1 when blocking at least four shots.
- Jeffrey Carroll had 10 points for his 10th career double-digit performance.
- Leyton Hammonds has now reached double-figures in three of the last four games. He finished with 11 points.
- The Cowboys opened the second half on a 10-1 run, capped by a Jeffrey Carroll fast-break 3-pointer. TCU missed its first six shots of the half.
- Chris Olivier blocked three first-half shots. The big man's career high is five blocks against George Mason in November. He had been held without a block in the last five games.
- Igor Ibaka made just his third appearance of the season, and his first since the Longwood game on Dec. 15.
- Mitchell Solomon made his return from injury after missing the UMKC game with a sprained ankle.
- Codey McElroy saw his first action in an OSU uniform.
- OSU is now 23-3 all-time against TCU, including an 8-1 mark in Stillwater. The Cowboys are a perfect 6-0 in Gallagher-Iba Arena against TCU.
- OSU has made at least one three-pointer in 497 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 13, 2001.
- OSU went into the break with a 26-24 lead, and is now 8-1 this year when leading at the break. In the Ford era, OSU is 125-23 when leading at the half.
- OSU is now 13-7 in Big 12 openers. The Cowboys have now won their last two conference openers.
- OSU is 87-6 at home against unranked teams in the Travis Ford era.
- The Cowboys started Jawun Evans, Jeff Newberry, Jeffrey Carroll, Leyton Hammonds and Anthony Allen for a fourth straight game. OSU has used six different starting lineups this year.
- The Cowboys have blocked at least one shot in every game this season, and entered tonight's contest ranked 39th nationally with 5.3 blocks per game.
