Cowgirls Make A Special Road Trip
September 22, 2015 | Cowgirl Basketball
Earlier this week, Oklahoma State's women's basketball team had the opportunity to visit the Children's Hospital of St. Francis in Tulsa.
Coordinated through the American Cancer Society's OSU Coaches vs. Cancer program, the Cowgirls were able to spread cheer to those who are battling disease and illness, bringing lots of smiles and laughter to both sides.
The American Cancer Society Coaches vs. Cancer® program is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The initiative leverages the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of basketball coaches nationwide to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living through year-round awareness efforts, fundraising activities, and advocacy programs. The Coaches vs. Cancer program provides critical mission outreach, while raising funds to help the American Cancer Society finish the fight against cancer.
OSU's Coaches vs. Cancer program ranks first in the Big 12 and first in the high plains division in dollars raised and also ranks in the top 10 nationally.
