Four-Star Wing Dillard Signs With OSU Hoops
July 06, 2015 | Cowboy Basketball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State head basketball coach Travis Ford fortified his signing class with the addition of ESPN four-star wing Davon Dillard.
A 6-5, 205-pound small forward from Gary, Ind., Dillard was ranked as the No. 3 player in the state of Indiana, and the No. 21 player at his position in the nation by ESPN. The site named him the country's No. 94 recruit coming out of Our Savior New American School in New York.
Hailed for his explosive athleticism and drive, the McDonald's All-America team nominee is expected to suit up for the Cowboys for 2015-16.
"Davon is an ultra-competitor and a great athlete, and we couldn't be happier to have a part of the Oklahoma State family," Ford said. "His size, athleticism and toughness make him very versatile, and his motor is always running."
Dillard played for Bowman Academy in Gary, Ind., for his junior season, and averaged 17.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and two steals per game. He followed that up with 16.0 points per game in his senior season at Our Savior, including six 20-point outings.
He was named to the Indiana Junior All-Stars roster following his junior season, and led the Hoosier state to a 127-104 win over the Kentucky All-Stars with 6-of-8 shooting for 12 points.
Dillard chose Oklahoma State over offers from Indiana, Pittsburgh, California, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Purdue, Creighton and others.
