Karli Wheeler Named Player of the Year

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State signee Karli Wheeler has been named the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 5A Player of the Year.
A native of Plainview, Texas, Wheeler earned the distinction after averaging 15.9 points, four rebounds and 2.8 assists per game this past year for the Lady Bulldogs. The 5-foot-8 guard shot 46 percent from the floor, including a 36-percent clip from beyond the 3-point line.
A 2015 McDonald's All-America nominee, Wheeler was named a Texas Girls Coaches Association all-state selection on four occasions and was twice honored with all-state recognition by the TABC during her prep career. Additionally, she was tabbed as the district most valuable player on three occasions.
She will receive her most recent award at the TABC All-Star Game next month in San Antonio.
