NBA All-Rookie Team Nod For Marcus Smart
May 18, 2015 | Cowboy Basketball
STILLWATER - Former two-time Oklahoma State All-American Marcus Smart was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team on Monday.
Smart just missed making the first team, as the voting panel of 130 broadcasters and sportswriters gave the former Cowboy 28 first-team votes -- sixth most among all rookies and the most among second-team selections.
Smart was the sixth overall pick of the Boston Celtics last summer, and went on to average 7.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game as a rookie. He averaged 9.8 points for the Celtics in the playoffs.
The first Oklahoma State player to earn All-America honors as a freshman, Smart piled up 1,064 points in two standout seasons. He is now the fourth OSU player to earn NBA All-Rookie honors.
