Evans Tallies Four Assists In USA Win Over Argentina

Americans Advance To FIBA Quarterfinals, Will Face Italy Friday
GREECE – Jawun Evans and USA Basketball are moving on to the quarterfinals of the U19 FIBA World Championships after a 93-45 victory over Argentina on Wednesday.
Evans scored two points on 1-of-3 shooting, and added four assists and two steals in 16 minutes. The future OSU guard was fifth on the team with a plus/minus of +22 on the day. With Evans on the floor, the USA (4-0) is a +68 in scoring over its opponents during the tournament.
The Americans move on to face Italy in the quarterfinal round on Friday at 10:15 a.m. Italy (3-1) is coming off an 82-73 victory over the Dominican Republic on Wednesday.
USA Basketball is attempting to win back-to-back FIBA World Championships for the first time since winning gold in 1979 and 1983. Cowboy Matt Clark was a member of that 1979 squad, while Marcus Smart won gold with the 2013 team.
