The Sunday Wrap - Cowboys Split With TCU, West Virginia

STILLWATER - Led by seniors Le'Bryan Nash and Anthony Hickey, the Cowboys split a pair of games last week, defeating TCU, 82-70, and falling at No. 20 West Virginia, 81-72.
The Cowboys ended the regular season at 18-12 overall and 8-10 in Big 12 play.
Key Stats vs. TCU
► Oklahoma State's 82 points were the most for the Cowboys in a Big 12 game this season and their most against any opponent since scoring 87 against North Texas on Dec. 3.
► TCU had no answer for Le'Bryan Nash in the first half, as Nash scored 15 points on just eight field goal attempts. He finished with 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field for his 28th game with 20 points or more in his career - a mark that leads all active players in the Big 12.
► Oklahoma State made 11 of its 17 attempts from three-point range (.647 pct.) and had a season-low five turnovers in the game.

► On shots missed by West Virginia, the Mountaineers grabbed 16 offensive rebounds and OSU grabbed 15 defensive rebounds. WVU held a 22-4 advantage over OSU in second-chance points. West Virginia entered the game ranked No. 1 in the nation with 17.1 offensive rebounds per game.
► West Virginia's pressure defense forced Oklahoma State into committing 15 turnovers, which the Mountaineers converted into 19 points.
► Oklahoma State shot .542 pct. from the field and made 11 three-pointers. Prior to Saturday, the best OSU had shot from the field and still lost was a .449 pct. showing at TCU.
► Jeff Newberry turned in a career day, scoring a career-high 23 points on 8-for-11 shooting from the field and 3-for-6 shooting from three-point range.

Anthony Hickey

Senior Anthony Hickey averaged 18.5 points, six assists, two rebounds, and 1.5 steals in the Cowboys' games against TCU and West Virginia last week. Hickey shot particularly well from behind the arc, hitting nine of his 12 three-point attempts. Against TCU, he was remarkably efficient, scoring 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field and 4-of-4 from three-point range, and also adding five assists against no turnovers. The senior point guard led the Cowboys in scoring in the loss to West Virginia, pouring in 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting from three-point range and dishing off seven assists against just two turnovers against the Mountaineer press.

Oklahoma State senior forward Le'Bryan Nash was one of the leaders of the Cowboy offensive attack in its games against TCU and West Virginia last week, averaging 15 points per game on 11-of-22 shooting from the field. In the Cowboys' win over TCU, Nash scored 15 points in the first half to push the team to a 34-30 lead over the Horned Frogs going into the break. Nash ended the game with 20 points, six rebounds and two assists with a steal in 33 minutes played. In the Pokes' loss at West Virginia, the Cowboy senior contributed 10 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal.
