Gerch and Ferrigno Advance to Semifinals

LA JOLLA, Calif. - Members of the Cowboy tennis squad completed the third day of competition at the Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championship on Saturday.
Lucas Gerch and Nicolai Ferrigno started the day with a 6-3, 6-3 win against Harri Heliovaara and Ilja Orrein in the round of 16. They went on to face fifth-seeded Thomas Fawcett and Maciek Romanwicz of Stanford in the quarterfinals, whom they defeated in two sets, 6-2, 7-5.
They will face the Davis team of Bacharach and McKelvie on Sunday in the semifinals.
In their lone match of the day, Cowboys Lukas Finzelberg and Jurence Mendoza suffered a tough loss in the round of 16 in two close sets to USC's Forget/Quiroz duo, 7-5, 6-4.
