Cowgirl Trio Earns All-League Honors

IRVING, Texas - Three members of the Oklahoma State women's basketball team were honored on Wednesday with the announcement of the 2014-15 Phillips 66 All-Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball Awards by the league office.
Junior Brittney Martin was one of five players unanimously chosen as a first-team all-conference selection and was also one of five players named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team.
The Syracuse Utah native finished the regular season ranked among the league leaders in several categories. Martin's 13.6 points per game ranked seventh, her 8.7 rebounds per game were second and her 2.7 steals per contest ranked second as well.
Additionally, she ranked 15th in field-goal percentage at 41.4 percent, 11th in assists at 2.7 per game and 10th in blocked shots at 1.1 per contest. An honorable mention selection a year ago, Martin's six double-doubles were fifth among league players.
For the fourth year in a row, Liz Donohoe earned honorable mention all-league status. The senior from Edmond, Okla., ranked 12th among league players with her 11.9 points per game and 11th in field-goal percentage at 44.6 percent. Donohoe also finished the regular season ranked 20th in the conference with her 5.2 rebounds per game.
Joining Donohoe as an honorable mention pick was fellow senior LaShawn Jones. The Oklahoma City native was among the league's top 10 rebounders, with her 6.4 boards per game ranking eighth. Jones also ranked sixth in field-goal percentage at 49.6 percent and sixth in blocked shots at 1.1 per game.
The Cowgirls will return to action on Saturday in Dallas when they open play at the Big 12 Championship against Iowa State at 11 a.m.
