OSU Kicks Off Outdoor Season at Tulsa Duels

TULSA, Okla.- The Oklahoma State track and field program opened its outdoor season at the Tulsa Duels this weekend, with 22 top-five finishes and nine wins.
Indoor All-American Chase Ealey broke a school record in the women's shot put and won the event, throwing 16.73 meters. Ealey's throw gave her a third straight top-three finish at the Tulsa Duels and her second straight win at the meet.
Sharod Selph won the 100-meter final in 10.86 seconds and Arlando Brewer-Johnson finished fourth. Brewer-Johnson had another top-five finish in the 200-meter final, while fellow Cowboy Tyler Jackson won the race in 22.03.
The sprinting success continued in the 4X100 meter relay where Jackson, Selph, Johnson and Big 12 Champion Brandon Singleton ran a 41.57 to claim another victory for OSU.
Bailey Johnson and Sarah Robinson finished 1-2, respectively, in the 400-meter hurdles, and Robinson along with Ambra Wesley, Danielle Coleman and Britney Presley won the 4X400 meter relay in 3:56.69, six seconds faster than second place Langston.
In the women's discus, Ieva Zarankaite took first place with a mark of 50.58 meters, and Viktoriia Sadokhina won the triple jump with a mark of 12.35 meters.
The women's 3,000-meter final had Janelle Martinez, Natalie Baker and Emily Helms finish 4-5-6, respectively.
Overall, the OSU men's team recorded 14 top-10 finishes and the women's team had 18. OSU track and field will head to three meets next weekend, including the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas; the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas; and the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
