Cowboy Netters Defeat SMU, Texas Pan-Am

DALLAS - No. 31 Oklahoma State men's tennis team went undefeated on the day, edging No. 34 SMU, 4-3, before shutting out Texas Pan-Am, 4-0, on Wednesday in Dallas.
The Cowboys put up a big win against SMU, bouncing back from a tough doubles loss and winning four singles matches.
On court two, No. 102 Jakob Sude evened the team score, defeating Markus Kerner in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
The Mustangs responded with wins on courts three and five, taking back the lead.
Lucas Gerch, who represented OSU at the No. 1 spot, kept the Cowboys in it, winning his match against Arturs Kazijevs with a close first set 7-6(3) and a decisive second set, 6-3.
Jurence Mendoza tied the score on court six, overcoming Charles Nettlefold in three sets, 6-0, 3-6, 6-2.
The dual was decided in the final match on court four, where Tristan Meraut went to three sets with No. 110 Nate Lammons after falling in the first set. He powered through the next two sets, emerging with the 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory.
Later on the Cowboys cruised past Texas Pan-Am, 4-0.
OSU dominated in doubles with the Ferrigno/Gerch duo winning on court one, 6-4, and the Mendoza/Finzelberg pair taking the match on court two, 6-2.
In singles, Sude notched his second win of the day, this time on court one. He defeated Cruz Soria handily, 6-1, 6-2.
No. 122 Arjun Kadhe earned a win on court two in straight-sets, 7-5, 6-3.
Also adding to the Cowboy team score was Lukas Finzelberg, who earned his sixth win of the season, 6-4, 6-1.
The rest of the matches were not finished.
The Pokes return to action on Sunday at 11 a.m. as they take on No. 46 Dartmouth in Fort Worth, Texas.
