Sager, Forte Earn Academic All-Big 12 Nod

STILLWATER - In senior Christien Sager and junior Phil Forte, Oklahoma State put a pair of players on the 2015 Academic All-Big 12 Men's Basketball Team, the conference office announced today.
An electrical engineering major, Sager was the only player in the league nominated with a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
Sager earned Senior of Significance honors at OSU, which is given to 50 seniors total (not just student-athletes). He is a three-time President's Honor Roll selection and a two-time member of the CoSIDA Academic All-District team (2014 and 2015). This year's spot on the first-team Academic All-Big 12 squad is the third such appointment of his career, making him just the second Oklahoma State player to earn that honor three times (Fredrik Jonzen was a four-time selection from 1999-2002). Away from basketball, he has served as a tutor for other OSU student-athletes since June of 2013, has volunteered with Coaches vs. Cancer, Habitat for Humanity and numerous other worthwhile organizations.
Forte earned Academic All-Big 12 distinction for the second straight year. He was a first-team honoree in 2014 and a second-team selection this season. A recreational management major, Forte leads the Big 12 in minutes played, is third in points per game and is second in steals per game. Additionally, he ranks among the conference leaders in free throw percentage, three-pointers made, three-pointers attempted and three-point shooting percentage.
