Nash Honored As Big 12 Player of the Week
February 16, 2015 | Cowboy Basketball
STILLWATER - After averaging 20.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game on .536 pct. shooting from the field in Oklahoma State's two games last week, forward Le'Bryan Nash was honored as the Big 12 Player of the Week. He shares the accolade with Kansas's Perry Ellis.
In the Cowboys' win at No. 16 Baylor, Nash scored 22 points, grabbed five rebounds and recorded three steals. His 22 points against the Bears came on 14 field goal attempts. He scored seven points in the final three minutes of the game to keep Baylor's comeback bid at bay. Against TCU, he went for 19 points and seven rebounds and in the process, passed Desmond Mason for fifth on Oklahoma State's career scoring chart. His 1,720 career points are the most of any active Big 12 player and rank him 19th among all players nationally.
It's the first time Nash has received the Big 12's weekly honor this season and the second time he has secured that recognition over the span of his career. He is the second Cowboy to earn Big 12 Player of the Week this season, as Phil Forte was honored on Jan. 5.
Nash and the Cowboys host Iowa State on Wednesday and host West Virginia on Saturday. Tickets for the game against the Cyclones are available for as little as $15 and tickets for the game against the Mountaineers are available for as little as $20 by going to okstate.com/tickets, calling 877-ALL-4-OSU or coming to the Gallagher-Iba Arena box office.
