Brittney Martin Earns Third Big 12 Honor

Oklahoma State's Brittney Martin was named the Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season on Monday in a vote of a media panel that covers the conference. For Martin, it was her 11th career award and sixth as player of the week.
The Syracuse, Utah native averaged 26.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 3.0 assists in Oklahoma State's wins over Central Florida and Savannah State. She connected on 52.3 percent (23-44) of her field goal attempts and hit 87.5 percent (7-8) of her free throws.
Martin scored a game-high 27 points on an 11-of-23 shooting effort in the road win at UCF. She matched her season-high with six steals and also finished with six rebounds, three assists and a block.
The senior guard hit 12 of her 21 shots en route to a game-high 26-point outing against Savannah State. She played 32 minutes in the contest and also pulled down 10 rebounds, including a game-best five at the offensive end, for her sixth double-double of the year. Martin dished out three assists and had a game-high three steals as well.
She has scored at least 20 points in nine of the squad's last 10 games.
