STILLWATER, Okla. --- Jawun Evans finished with 11 points in a 66-56 loss to in-state rival Tulsa at Gallagher-Iba Arena Wednesday.
It was the fourth-career double-figure night for Evans.
The game went back and fourth from the tip, and featured 10 lead changes.
The Golden Hurricane led for a majority of the second half until two Leyton Hammonds free throws tied the game at 49 with 5:11 left. Hammonds finished with eight points and six rebounds off the bench.
Tulsa responded with an 8-0 run that was sparked by a Pat Birt three-pointer during the following possession.
Oklahoma State cut the Tulsa lead to 59-54 with 1:47 left, but the Golden Hurricane were able to hold on by taking advantage from the free throw line in the final minute.
