STILLWATER, Okla. ---- Jawun Evans scored 15 points in a comeback effort in a 64-63 loss to Missouri State Saturday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
All 15 points for Evans came in the second half. He also finished with five rebounds and seven assists.
Trailing at the start of the second half, the Cowboys cut the deficit to 41-33 after a powerful Jeff Newberry dunk early in the second half.
An Evans jumper cut the deficit to five with 9:41 left, and he hit a three a couple minutes later to cut the deficit to 46-44.
Newberry's jumper with 6:14 left gave the Cowboys their first lead of the day.
Two Anthony Allen free throws with 1:42 left gave the Cowboys a 59-58 lead, and he finished with a powerful dunk a couple possessions later to give Oklahoma State a 61-58 lead with less than a minute remaining.
