Cowgirls Defeat NSU, 94-54, Sweep Exhibition Schedule

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State Women's Basketball completed its 2015-16 exhibition schedule with a 94-54 victory over Northeastern State on Sunday.
The Cowgirls dominated defensively early on as they forced five NSU turnovers in the game's first three minutes, two of which were steals by senior Roddricka Patton.
The Cowgirls also kept NSU off the scoreboard early on as the RiverHawks missed their first 10 shots.
NSU didn't get on the board for more than seven minutes, and didn't make its first field goal until there was just 1:12 remaining in the first quarter. OSU gave up just 3 points in the first quarter.
On the offensive end, the Cowgirls shot 57 percent (39-68) for the game.
Senior Brittney Martin scored 25 points on 11-19 shooting to lead all scorers. Martin also filled up the stat sheet for the Cowgirls as she also recorded seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Sophomore Kaylee Jensen was one of OSU's offensive leaders, tallying 14 points and six rebounds in the game.
In the third quarter, NSU made four of its first six 3-pointers to open the second half, but Martin scored 10 points in the quarter to help the Cowgirls extend the lead to 32 after three quarters.
The win marks the 20th consecutive exhibition victory for OSU and improves the Cowgirls to 7-0 in exhibitions under head coach Jim Littell.
OSU will open its regular season on Friday, Nov. 13, when the Cowgirls take on Lamar inside Gallagher-Iba Arena at 11 a.m.
