Shot Blocking Cowboys Held To High Standards
November 24, 2015 | Cowboy Basketball
STILLWATER - Oklahoma State leads the country with 38 total blocked shots, and it's due in part to a mindset head coach Travis Ford instills in his players.
He expects his forwards to block shots, and the players want to live up that expectation.
"I like it that they are blocking shot, but I expect them to block shots," Ford said. "It's not something I get overly excited about because I expect Anthony Allen to block shots. I expect Chris Olivier to block shots. I expect Mitchell Solomon to block shots."
And block shots they have.
Allen and Olivier rank fourth in the country with 13 block each this year. Allen blocked all 13 of his shots in three games at the Charleston Classic, and has nearly blocked as many shots as he did his entire junior season (19).
