Olivier Earns Big 12 Honor After Charleston Classic All-Tourney Nod

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State forward Chris Olivier brought home a pair of honors from Charleston. The senior was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week just hours after being named to the Charleston Classic All-Tournament team.
Olivier has tallied double figures in each game this season, and had outings of 18, 19 and 11 points in Charleston. For the weekend, the senior averaged 16.0 points on 57.6 percent shooting, to go with 11 blocks and just two turnovers. He was also 10-of-14 (.714) from the free throw line, which helped the Cowboys win a pair of games in the tournament.
Against George Mason, Olivier tallied 19 points, five rebounds and a career-high five blocked shots. He lit up Towson for 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting, and reached double figures against Long Beach State with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting.
For the year, Olivier is averaging 15.0 points on 61.2 percent shooting – both team highs. He's also tied for the team lead with 13 blocked shots.
Olivier and the Cowboys will once again face Long Beach State on Friday at Gallagher-Iba Arena. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. on Fox Sports-Plus.
