Barrick's Huge Day Leads Cowgirls Past TCU

STILLWATER – Sophomore Carly Barrick led No. 5 Cowgirl Equestrian to a crucial 12-8 victory over TCU on Saturday.
Barrick posted a personal career high score of 92 in Equitation on the Flat to beat TCU's Kari Hancock's impressive score of 89.
The score marks the highest of any Cowgirl's across all competitions this season.
The Fallbrook, California native's contributions didn't stop there, as Barrick recorded an 84-76 victory over Emery Hanson in Equitation over Fences.
Jorden Davis also had an outstanding day for the Cowgirls. The junior defeated Mady Fithian 83-72 in Flat and topped Carley Barnett 88-83 in Fences.
Davis' score of 88 marks a new career best for the All-American.
Barrick and Davis both took home Most Outstanding Player awards in Hunt Seat competition (Barrick: Equitation on the Flat, Davis: Equitation over Fences).
Maggie Drysch defeated TCU's Jayme Omand 78-69 in Equitation on the Flat to give the Cowgirls a 3-2 victory in the event.
OSU and TCU tied Hunt Seat competition 5-5.
Senior Erin Willoughby defeated Hunter DeJane 72-71 to advance her record to a perfect 6-0 on the season. She took home MOP honors for her performance on Saturday.
The Cowgirls remain unbeaten in Reining, defeating TCU 4-1 to improve their record to 5-0-1 in the event on the year.
All-American Justine Peters defeated Maloney Morris 71.5-70, Ebba Lange defeated Brooke Boyle 68.5 and Julia Purus continued her winning ways, defeating Carley Montemuro 69-66.5.
The Cowgirls also bested TCU in Horsemanship, winning the event 3-2.
Libby Collins topped Erin Gillette 73-70, Kirsten Chamberland defeated Lacey Bohn 74.5-72.5 and Miranda Reed triumphed over Alex Stark 74-71.5.
Oklahoma State dominated Western competition, winning 7-3 over the Horned Frogs.
The Cowgirls finish Fall competition with a 4-2 record and perfect 3-0 records at home and in conference play.
The team returns to action on February 6 against Kansas State at Totusek Arena.
